Case Study

CreatorU Community

When I joined the CreatorU team, we were just gearing up for launch. My first challenge? Help take a brand-new subscription product to market—and fast.

In our first week, we launched CreatorU to 10,000 subscribers. Within 12 months, we had scaled to 65,000+ active members and crossed $1M+ in monthly recurring revenue.

Behind the scenes, I collaborated closely with our ad buyer and creative team to sharpen messaging, rethink funnel flow, and overhaul design across Meta and YouTube campaigns. This allowed us to support a $9M annual ad budget while increasing conversion rates by 47% through targeted landing pages, funnel experiments, and stronger creative strategy.

We acquired new customers with a $7 front-end offer (first year discount), followed by a $400 upsell - but with a $120 rebill hitting 12 months later, we knew churn and refunds would be a real threat to long-term profitability.

So I tackled that head-on.

I built a full-year retention strategy, focused on delivering value, driving engagement, and reframing the rebill. As the renewal approached, we ramped up communications - highlighting upcoming content drops, reminding members what they had unlocked, and positioning the rebill as an opportunity, not an expense.

The results:

  • 33% lift in LTV

  • 18% reduction in churn

  • $1.2M in MIR (monthly income retained) from post-purchase communication flows - meaning we were profitable before renewals even hit.

This wasn’t just about reducing churn - it was about designing a content + comms system that paid for itself.
